Quote of the Day: “Socialism is a wonderful idea. It is only as a reality that it has been disastrous. Among people of every race, color, and creed, all around the world, socialism has led to hunger in countries that used to have surplus food to export…. Nevertheless, for many of those who deal primarily in ideas, socialism remains an attractive idea – in fact, seductive. Its every failure is explained away as due to the inadequacies of particular leaders.” Thomas Sowell

What a great article on the Front Page of TheRecord this morning by Chris Seto. He outlines the various reactions to the “Diversity Cruiser” that the oh-so-woke police are now driving around the region. Way Too Funny. This is what happens when you attempt to placate a bunch of communists and anarchists – nothing is good enough for these idiots. Chief Bryan Larkin’s first mistake was to suggest that the WRPS has a “systemic racism” issue. Give in once, you’re done.

Angela Bischoff is the Director of the Ontario Clean Air Alliance. On the Editorial Page today, she suggests that: “We are in the fight of our lives…” and “…the battle is to stop the worst impacts of climate change and to do that we need to use all of the forces at our disposal to reduce climate pollution now before it’s too late.” Wow. I can just picture her, frantically typing away on her laptop, hiding under her desk over there on John Street (nice!!!) in Toronto trying to get out her message that saves the world – just like in every disaster movie you ever saw. So, I googled the OCAA to see what they are all about, and, well look at this… One of the first articles about them that popped up was this: https://www.fraserinstitute.org/fr/node/13197 Here is where the Fraser Institute takes the OCAA to task for completely misrepresented a paper that Fraser published about a year and a half ago. Interesting.

Carly Blasutti is the owner of the really, really good restaurant Public Kitchen. She has a great op-ed today that demolishes the government’s COVID protocols and the vast difference between big box stores like Costco and small, independent places like hers. The column has a number of great lines in it including this one: “You can throw any case numbers or ICU capacity percentages our way but please feel free to back it up with some statistics on how many outbreaks have occurred on restaurant patios, dining rooms, gyms, hair salons and tattoo shops. We’ll wait.” Beautiful. Please read the article. Nothing but pure gold here. Absolutely brilliant.

A full page ad on A19 (how much did they pay for it, I wonder…) by New Media Canada slamming Google and Facebook for not sponsoring church fundraisers or something. Pathetic. Their (new?) slogan is “Champion The Truth”. Wow. O.K., so where is a single op-ed that shares the other side of this dispute. No where. Because TorStar papers and News Media Canada are afraid of “The Truth”. Losers.
