Quote of the Day: “Age gives you an excuse for not being very good at things that you were not very good at when you were young.” Thomas Sowell

Three interesting op-eds today in our Favourite Family Journal. The first is from Fred Youngs, a retired “journalist” who live in Burlington, on the current lockdown from the Ford government. He claims that “On public health versus business, Ford continually comes down on the wrong side”. I guess this “journalist” hasn’t been walking downtown in his city, or any other city in Ontario and observed the thousands of businesses that are permanently closed due to the arbitrary and unnecessary “stay at home” orders from this government. I guess this “journalist” is currently hiding under his bed, waiting for “Dear Leader” to tell him when it’s time to go and get his COVID vaccine shot next month. Pathetic. What a waste of editorial space.

Next up are two op-eds from two different groups that are only published in TheRecord because they want a handout. I mean, this is the only reason I can think of since both of the op-eds say practically nothing. The one op-ed wants Canada to “invest” in social infrastructure – because, I guess we don’t do enough of it currently. The other whiny, little diatribe is titled: “We no longer live in a world that accepts inequities” and then proceeds to beg for gender based handouts. Do these authors not see the absolute hypocrisy in their writings? What nonsense.

Graeme MacKay has an editorial cartoon where he has a panel with crowds at the mall, another with crowds at a baseball game and then crowds at a restaurant and in his final panel, he as someone in an ICU bed – obviously because they were at one of the other events. Maybe MacKay can explain why Texas and Florida, two of the states that have opened up their businesses and economy, also have the lowest rates of COVID infections? I’ll wait.
